Born, Raised and Educated in Houston

James Deaver is a native Houstonian. He obtained his BSCE and MSCE (Both in Civil/Structural Engineering) degrees from the University of Houston. He has spent over 20 years accumulating various types of structural experience with companies such as Walter P. Moore & Associates, Atlanta Offshore Limited, and most recently with The Dow Chemical Company.

After obtaining his Professional Engineering License, James opened JDSI (James Deaver Services, Inc.) providing commercial and residential design engineering along with many types of inspection services. With experience in the Consulting, Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas plus Real Estate industries, James is able to provide unique solutions to a wide variety of project needs.

For several years now, James has performed over 10,000 WPI-8 certifications along the Texas Gulf Coast wind zones. He is very familiar with Residential and Commercial building codes and how they are modified for wind zones along coastal areas. In addition to modifications to existing structures, James has designed many structures per wind zones before and after every major hurricane for the last two decades. If hired to certify, it will be designed, and then inspected multiple times to ensure wind codes are followed.

To meet our clients scheduling needs, JDSI has additional inspectors on staff. These Professional Inspectors bring experience to the table but can also rely on James’ professional engineering skills and experience in the event of unusual circumstances.

James enjoys his engineering work, but also has a passion for meeting new people and being in the field seeing various projects approach their final stages of completion. He is married and lives in the Kingwood area with his wife of 25 years, Audra.  James and Audra have three children.
